Drawing on extensive experience gained in a company specializing in industrial machinery for the tanning industry, the founder decided to embark on a new venture to apply his expertise and vision: Rollmac was founded in 1991.
In just a few years, the company has grown into a global leader in the design and manufacture of complete machines and systems for coating, textile finishing, and finishing leather, synthetic leather, hides, and rubber
Thanks to a strong market response and the loyalty of its customers, Rollmac expanded its offering with complementary product lines designed to meet specific production requirements, leading to the creation of the Komet division.

The first step was becoming the European distributor for a major Japanese company producing release paper (Asahi Roll Co. Ltd), a key component in the production of leather and synthetics using the transfer system.
The mechanical production division (Rollmac) has been transferred to a single manufacturing hub specialized in the mechanical plant sector. This allowed the family to focus exclusively on Komet, moving away from machinery manufacturing to expand its range of products and accessories, becoming a dedicated partner in creativity, quality, and service, providing products, technical assistance, and consultancy for the finishing of leather and synthetics.
Komet has grown steadily over the years, further strengthened by the arrival of the second generation represented by Mattia. This success has been driven by a constant capacity for renewal, the agility to navigate market shifts, and a commitment to diversifying operations through an innovative spirit, risk awareness, and confidence in the future.
In 2018, with a commitment to providing its customers with the very best, Komet became the European distributor for DNTP release papers for coating. These papers are developed and manufactured by Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. and marketed by Ajinomoto Trading, Inc.
With its steady growth and evolution, Komet focused on structuring the compapy and the implementation of new skills. This has led to the definition of a clear brand identity communicated through new channels, alongside strategic investments to strengthen its active presence across the European market.
A journey driven by strong determination and the collective effort of the entire team has led to a significant milestone: in 2025, Komet earned two prestigious certifications.
